I got this sample a while ago, so it’s time to take a closer look at it.

It is a bottling of Glentauchers by Signatory from the Samurai Edition.

The whisky was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2020 the abv is 63,2%.

I have written the following short notes about it on Whiskybase:

  • Smell: some fruit, marzipan, and vanilla. Then, wood and a touch of spice come in. There’s also a hint of floral (chrysanthemum?).
  • Taste: a touch of alcoholic sharpness. But then the whisky flatters with pleasant, light berry notes.
  • Finish: Persistently warming with a slight alcoholic edge. But hydrating and pleasantly lingering.
